CLIC Sargent Sportsman’s Lunch – hosted by Charity Patron Barry McGuigan

Barry will be joined by the hugely successful football manager Martin O’Neill.

I am delighted to invite you to join CLIC Sargent at the Europa Hotel, Belfast for our first ever Sportsman’s Lunch, with guest speaker Barry McGuigan. Mr McGuigan is best known as a professional boxer. In 1978 he won a Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games – he then went on to win the British Featherweight title in 1983, when he was also European Champion, and in 1985 he became the WBA Featherweight World Champion. In 2005, Barry was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Barry and Sandra McGuigan became involved as Patrons of CLIC Sargent after their daughter Danika had been diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of 11.

In partnership with Used Cars NI CLIC Sargent is hosting the Sportsman’s Lunch to raise funds to support children with cancer – and their families – through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. CLIC Sargent offers a lifeline for local families, providing a specialist nurse and social worker’s at Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and Belfast City Hospital and Cancer Centre, as well as financial assistance. I am also delighted to announce CLIC Sargent’s commitment to raising £4 million over the next two years to fund two Homes from Home for children and young people with cancer and their families.

The CLIC Sargent Sportsman’s Lunch makes its debut on Friday 18th November with guest arriving at 12 noon, and will feature a drinks reception on arrival and hot buffet lunch, with speeches by Barry McGuigan as the highlight of the day. There will also be a silent auction featuring some incredible prizes! The day will conclude with a raffle before guests leave at 15.00hrs.

With your support we can help make a difference to the lives of children or young people living with cancer in Northern Ireland, and their families. A table of 10 cost only £450.00 and individual seats may also be purchased. To reserve seats or your table, please visit to download the booking form or contact the Fundraising Department on 02890 725780.
